Phil recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University where he obtained a degree in furniture and product design. The four year course included the development of both furniture and products.
During his degree Phil spent 6 months working for Hutchinson furniture working on bespoke oak furniture and interiors. This was then followed by 9 months with British furniture manufacturer naughtone working on the development of new products, visualisation and space planning.
His final year at university led to the creation of a range of lights, tables and soft seating. The focus of these products was on quality finishing, graphic styling and user focus. This interest in the user was highlighted in a research paper looking at diabetics and the preconceptions that surround the condition and how products can be developed to reduce this.
Phil is now actively seeking employment in the design industry and in the meantime is developing his own products and manufacturing partnerships.
